Am I required to purchase tickets online before visiting the museum?
No, you are no longer required to purchase tickets online before visiting. Tickets can be purchased at the admissions desk when you arrive. However, purchasing online before visiting will speed up the check-in process.

All guests age 15 and younger must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Scholars, students, collectors, and others may request an appointment to conduct research on site to examine The Strong’s collections. The museum is closed for Play Ball (October 22), Thanksgiving (November 25), and Christmas Day (December 25).

Everyone who abides by the Play Nice Policy is welcome at the Strong. The Strong reserves the right to refuse service or revoke access to any guests that the staff believe negatively impact this safe environment. Read The Strong’s Play Nice Policy.

Discounts

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Discount

The museum offers a discount on general admission fees to New York State residents who receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. Each guest showing a NY State Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card and matching personal identification may purchase admission for him/herself and up to three additional guests at $5 per person. This reduced price may not be combined with any other discount and is not applicable on butterfly garden tickets, advanced sale tickets, or any other museum events. Discount not available online.

Active-Duty Military and Veteran Discount

The museum offers a $5 discount on general admission fees to active-duty United States military personnel and veterans (Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, Navy, and National Guard) and their immediate family members who present appropriate and valid identification. May not be combined with any other discount. Discount not available online.

College Student Discount

The museum offers a $5 discount on general admission fees to students with current college ID. May not be combined with any other discount. Discount not available online.

Museum Mondays for Seniors

ACM Reciprocal Admission Program

Through the museum’s participation in the ACM Reciprocal Network, The Strong provides a 50% general admission discount for up to six guests who show a valid membership card with the ACM Reciprocal Network logo and a photo ID. May not be combined with any other discount and does not apply to butterfly garden tickets. For a list of participating museums, please visit childrensmuseums.org then click Search Now. The museum will not refund admission for guests that do not have a valid membership card with ACM Reciprocal Network logo at the time of admission. Discount not available online.
